found my plumber through a tribe posting. He answers the phone, at different times, 'Rooter Bong' and Bong'. At first i thought his name was 'rooter' and he added 'bong' at the end. Turns out his name is 'bong' and he added 'rooter' when he started plumbing. He said that in his previous job at a warehouse (i think) his work jacket said 'bong' and people on the street constantly tried to buy the jacket... Honestly, i called him over other recommendations because i love the name!

Funny initials... kind of

So my coworker related how her full name is eight words long -- her parents gave her middle names that included each of her siblings, plus she has a married name.

I asked her whether she'd ever tried spelling anything from the initials, and she said no. Unfortunately there are few vowels in there, but we eventually settled on:

"Mmm... Ass V.D."

I know a man who claims to have grown up in a small town (Barstow, CA) with a boy named BOLIVER SHAGNASTY.

Evidently, Shagnasty is an actual, albeit rare, surname (possibly related to "Shaughnessy", etc.), but to compound that by naming your baby boy "Boliver". The boy was doomed.

Actually, come to think of it, I think that would be a fun name to have as an adult.

There was nothing funny, ironic, slick, or clever about him or his signs. I mean, it would be different if his picture depicted a zombie or something, but he looked like an ordinary live dude.

Seemingly, that was the (poor) guy's name. Memorable, tho.

About 10 years ago, I rented an apartment where the leasing agent's name was TINA CASHDOLLAR. (wait for it) Not funny or even unusual, except for the fact that she was incredibly forward and trashy, to the point of insinuating quite unambiguously that she might break into my apartment and lie in wait with her clothes off (this would NOT have been a good thing). Ultra-creepy.

When later relating this story to a female friend, she re-dubbed this person TUNA CASSEROLE CASHBOX, and that name has stuck in my mind like glue for over a decade.
